The short version
This site collects very little, sells nothing, and builds no profile of you. What follows is the detail.
What is collected
Server logs. Like nearly every website, the server records basic request data: IP address, browser and operating system strings, the page requested, and a timestamp. These logs exist for security and for understanding overall traffic levels, and they are deleted on a rolling basis.
Aggregate analytics. The site may use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and referrers in aggregate. This measures pages, not people, and is not used to identify individual visitors.
Email correspondence. If you write to us, we hold your message and your address for as long as needed to deal with it. Nothing more.
What is not collected
No accounts, because there is nothing to sign into. No payment details, because nothing is sold. No advertising or cross-site tracking pixels. No location tracking beyond the rough country a server log implies. No newsletter list unless one is added later and announced here.
Selling and sharing
Your data is never sold, rented or traded. It is shared only with the hosting and analytics providers that operate the site on our behalf, and only to the extent needed to run it — or where the law genuinely requires disclosure.
Cookies
The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Any cookie present is strictly functional and necessary for the page to work. Browsers let you block or delete cookies, and blocking them will not break this site.
Your choices
To opt out entirely, use your browser's "do not track" or private-browsing setting, or block scripts from this domain — the site is plain HTML and CSS and will still read normally.
To have an email exchange deleted from our records, write to editor@gotoplays.com and ask. It will be done.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new date below. Material changes will be described rather than slipped in quietly.
